Hello fine readers! I hope this post finds you well. I haven’t posted on here since 2021 (oh the shame) but I am back now and hope to be back more and more often! I also have a youtube channel so feel free to check it out and subscribe and follow along. I now have 11 children and I am still living in Melbourne, Australia and enjoying my simple life.
It occured to me the other day that I looked….not good (see photo above)
So I thought I would record my thoughts on the types of things I do to help with my appearance.
Spoiler alert…..none of the things costs very much (or any) money.
No botox or spray tans for me.
I tend to be a very frugal person (no, this has nothing to do with my family size) and I try to buy most things secondhand because there’s enough stuff already in the world that I don’t need to buy most things ‘new’. However! I was unable to find these headband things in any op shops so I bought some from Amazon 🙂
That should be the link to what I bought 🙂
My biggest challenges with ‘looking better’ are probably that I am not one of those naturally beautiful people, I’m time poor and I’m fashion and beauty skills poor. I can improve on the time thing and skills thing and reframe my thinking about how I look.
I think most people focus too much on what they DON’T have instead of what they DO have and we also spend FAR too much time looking at ourselves and worrying about ourselves or what others think of us instead of just living our lives and doing the best we can with what we’ve got.
So my list of things I do or can do are:
Read my Bible.
What does God say about me? I am pretty sure God loves me (and you) no matter what we look like. Plus we are warned against being vain.
Pray. I can pray that God heals me from trauma and helps me to feel loved by Him and comforted by Him. He can also show me the way and help me.
Drink water.
It really helps with having clear skin and clear thinking
Eating well (or better). I follow a certain way of eating and cutting out fast food has been essential!
Washing my face and skincare! It makes a big difference and only takes a few minutes.
Sleep.
Do you sleep enough? I have broken sleep at the moment but have been coping really well (due to diet changes).
I was about to say I could go on and on but I’m too tired haha! Maybe I do need more sleep! haha!!!
If you have any questions feel free to ask. I am pretty sure you can subscribe to this website. I’d also love to see you in the comments on my youtube channel.
Until next time I hope you are well.
Katherine
